Knock, Knock! Who's There?
Knock, Knock! Who's There? was a Kids In Control project funded by Arts Victoria through their Extended school residency program. Polyglot Theatre worked closely with students from Mahogany Rise Primary School to develop an interactive multi-artform installation exploring the theme of transition as it resonates with children entering and leaving primary school.
The presentation of Knock Knock drew 100 parents and teachers to the school for an elegant evening of fine food and beautiful entertainment. The kids, full of pride for their achievement together, sang, did body percussion and took their admiring families on a tour of the intricate and wonderful maze of life they’d constructed. After the success of this evening, there was another presentation for the general public at Frankston Arts Centre who were strong supporters for the project.

Artists Kate Kantor, Jacob Williams, Carla Ori, Nick Barlow, Lis Blake and Zak Pidd send a big shout out to all the graduating grade 6 kids – thanks for all your amazing work and energy and have a happy first year at secondary school!
The biggest success of the project was that Polyglot is going to be coming back to Mahogany Rise for another two years. Thank goodness – we couldn’t bear to not see those kids and teachers again. It’s incredible to be given the chance to build a relationship with a school like this. Watch this space for the new Project title and the new news!
Longer term artistic residencies can also be built specifically around your curriculum needs.
